Stamp dealer

A stamp act is a business in which a philatelist can purchase postage stamps and post historical documents.

The world's first stamp act was opened in New York City in 1860. At this time was the first stamp in the world, the Penny Black, 20 years old. In this act, the stamp collectibles were still impaled with pins in order to present it to the interested buyer better.

In Germany the first stamp act was founded only a short time later in 1862 in Leipzig. This stamp is in action with name Zschiesche & Bait sold, among other things, the first German stamp catalogs and the first stamp albums in Germany. In 1863 Oscar Jann opened in Wroclaw, the second German stamp act.

The oldest existing stamp act is Stanley Gibbons. This was established in 1874 in London and was founded by Edward Stanley Gibbons.
