Stan Bowman

Stan Glenn Bowman ( born June 28, 1973 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a Canadian ice hockey official and since July 14, 2009 Current general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks. His father Scotty Bowman won as head coach nine times the Stanley Cup.

Career

Bowman earned in 1995 his diploma in finance and computer applications at the University of Notre Dame.

In 2001, he joined the Chicago Blackhawks and worked the next four years as an assistant general manager. He was then promoted to Director of Hockey Operations and until 2007 was employed in this position. At that time he was also responsible for the financial aspects, scouting and working with teams from the Minor League. On 14 July 2009 he was appointed General Manager of the Chicago Blackhawks, Dale Tallon after his predecessor was dismissed with the Black Hawks of the Office. In his first season as general manager, he won the franchise from Chicago once the coveted Stanley Cup.
