Stan Douglas

Stan Douglas ( born October 11, 1960) is a Canadian artist (photography, film, installation ).

Douglas is known for its highly complex and technically perfect film and video works that extend the possibilities of the medium continuously to construct nonlinear narrative forms and surprising time models. The conceptual and formal precision of Douglas ' movies is also characteristic of his photographs.

He participated in the Documenta IX, 1992, Documenta X, 1997, Documenta 11, 2002 and participated in the Biennale di Venezia in 1990, 2001 and 2005. In 1995 he was represented at the Carnegie International and the Whitney Biennial, 1997 Skulptur.Projekte Münster. In 2001 he was awarded the Arnold Bode Prize.

Douglas studied at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver.
