Stan Ioan Pătraş

Stan Ioan Pătraş (* 1908 in Săpânţa (Romania); ibid † 1977) was a Romanian artist. For decades, he designed the cemetery in the municipality Săpânţa in Maramureş County in northern Romania in a special way so that it now as " Merry Cemetery " (Romanian: Cimitirul Vesel ) Romania also is widely known and attracts tourists: The traditional wooden grave stelae decorated Patras with hand-painted images of the deceased and with verses to their lives.
