The Stancomb - Wills Glacier is a large glacier located south of Lyddan Island flows into the Weddell Sea. The glacier was discovered during a flight of the U.S. Navy on November 5, 1967, and charted by the United States Geological Survey (USGS ) to air photos. The name was given in 1969 by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US- ACAN ).

The Stancomb - Wills Glacier Tongue (75 ° 0 ' S, 22 ° 0' W -75 -22) is the vast extension of the glacier to the eastern Weddell Sea. The peak was discovered in January 1915 by a British expedition led by Ernest Shackleton. He named it " Stancomb - Wills Promontory " by Janet Stancomb Wills, one of the main financial backers of the expedition. 1969 changed the U.S. ACAN the name to " Stancomb - Wills Glacier Tongue" after the glacier discovered and the context of the tongue was noted.
