The Standard Life plc is a former mutual insurance company a worldwide active insurance group. With about 200 billion euros of assets under management it moves in the order of Allianz SE. It markets since 1996 with a representative office in Germany products for private and occupational pensions, since 1999 with one of the German connected representation in Austria (Graz). In both countries it has collected about 450,000 customers for its own account.

Development

The Board of Directors of the Company has proposed to the members of a mutual insurance company, a transformation of society in the form of a joint stock company demutualization. At the extraordinary general meeting on 31 May 2006 was voted on, it was a majority of 98 % for the demutualization materialize (required: 75%). The flotation of Standard Life was held on 10 July 2006. Since then, the Standard Life plc on the London Stock Exchange ( LSE) on the Main Market ( Main Market ) listed and is part of the UK FTSE 100 stock market index
