Standard Telephones and Cables

Standard Telephones and Cables ( STC later only ), a British company, the telephones, telegraphs, radios and other related electronic devices produced. Throughout its history STC invented and developed several groundbreaking milestones such as in pulse - code modulation and data transmission with optical fibers optical fiber.

STC 1984, the British company International Computers Limited ( ICL) adopted and thus bought the last independent British manufacturer of universally usable mainframe computers. STC, in turn, was bought in 1990 by the Northern Telecom Group.
