Stanislav Piętak

Stanislav Piętak ( born March 18, 1946 in Smilovice ) is a Czech theologian and educationalist. From 2006 to 2011 he was Bishop of the Silesian Evangelical Church in the Czech Republic.

Pietak studied at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava and at the Evangelical Theological Academy in Warsaw. Since 1992, he stood at the head of the Department of Catechetics of the Faculty of Education, University of Ostrava, until it was converted to the Department of Social Sciences, which he still holds today ( 2011).

From 1995-2006 Piętak served as pastor of the parish in Třinec, he was also the parish administrator in Nebory 2001. Elected by the Synod of his church in November 2006 to the office of bishop, he entered this in January 2007.

Stanislav Pietak is married and father of four children.
