Stanislav Tereba

Stanislav Tereba ( born January 2, 1938 in Prague) is a Czech photographer.

Life and work

Stanislav Tereba was born in 1938 in Prague, the son of the table tennis player Václav Tereba. From 1956 to 1958 he trained as a photographer and technician. From 1956 to 1961 he studied at the school for photojournalism.

His photo of a football game between the teams Sparta Praha and Cervena Hvězda Bratislava, in which Sparta goalkeeper Miroslav Čtvrtníček stood in the pouring rain on the football field, was awarded in 1958 as a press photographer of the year.

From 1960 to 1990, served as head of the photography department at the Prague newspaper Večerní Praha. As a photographer, he documented including the Prague Spring in 1968. Since 1990, he worked as a photojournalist for newspapers plus as Večerník Praha, Občanský denník, Dobrý Večerník or magazine Sport. From 1997 to 2003 he worked for various magazines Prague as a freelance photojournalist.
