Stanley Gardner

Stanley Gardner ( born December 13, 1890 in Sherbrooke / Quebec; † August 17, 1945 in Montreal) was a Canadian pianist and music teacher.

Gardner had in Montresl piano lessons at Stratford Dawson and studied from 1912 in Berlin with Ferruccio Busoni in Egon Petri. After his return, he settled as a piano teacher in Montreal. Among his pupils were Samuel Dolin, rose gold leaf and Dorothy Morton. With Rose Goldblatt he formed a piano duo, which was heard 1936-1945 in numerous concerts and radio appearances. In addition, he was also active as a piano soloist and one of the first pianists who performed the works of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel in Canada. His repertoire also included works by contemporary North American composers.
