Biography

Alpine Skiing

Hayer, whose parents emigrated from Czechoslovakia to Canada, his career began in the early 1990s as an alpine skier. In contrast to many other Canadian skiers this time Hayer was not a skier, but a specialist in the slalom. In the seasons 1994/95 and 1997/98 he won the slalom standings of the Nor- Am Cup. From 1994 to 1996, he was three times. Consecutive Canadian champion in this discipline, also in 1994 and in combination In the Alpine Skiing World Cup, he reached several times the points in the 1994/95 season, the first time in Tignes in December 1994 with Rank 24 Two months later he was in Furano Twelfth, the best Slalom World Cup result of his career. The following seasons were far less successful: He came in the World Cup only rarely in the top 30 and lost his place in the Canadian squad.

Hayer then moved after the 1999 season to the Czech Ski Association. Here, too, remained successes, first, but in the 2001/2002 season get him some good results, including sixth in the classic combination in Wengen. In the 2002 Olympics he was a member of the Czech team and finished 15th in the slalom and 10th in the combination. This season Hayer was also Czech champion in slalom. In 2005 he ended his skiing career Alpine.

At Alpine World Ski Championships Stanley Hayer took some five times: in the Sierra Nevada in 1996, in Sestriere, 1997, in Vail in 1999, he started for the Canadian Federation, 2001 in St. Anton and 2003 in St. Moritz for the Czech Republic. His best World Cup result was the 16th place in the slalom at Vail.

Ski Cross

While Stanley Hayer was still driving for the Czech association slalom race, he already denied competitions in ski cross. Already in his second World Cup season 2004/ 05 he was four times as second on the podium and was overall in third. In summer 2007, Hayer moved back to the Canadian federation and was again in the following season, finishing third overall. Overall, he won so far twelve podiums, a World Cup victory he still lacks.

Still, for the Czech Republic Stanley Hayer was at the Freestyle World Championships in Ruka 2005 and 2007 in Madonna di Campiglio at the start and won the silver medal in 2007. Outside of the competition system of the International Ski Federation FIS Hayer was already winning races. Its probably the greatest success here was the victory in SkierX - competition at the Winter X Games 2009.
