Stanton County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Stanton.

Geography

The County is located in northeastern Nebraska, is in the north about 90 miles from South Dakota, to the East and about 80 km from Iowa and has an area of ​​1116 square kilometers, of which 3 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Cuming County, Colfax County, Platte County, Madison County and Wayne County.

History

Stanton County was formed in 1865. It was named after the Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton during the tenure of President Abraham Lincoln.
