Staples Advantage

Staples Advantage (formerly Corporate Express ), since January 1, 2010 is part of the Staples Group and provides office products for medium to multinational companies. The headquarters is located in Stuttgart.

History

The history of Staples Advantage in Germany began with the group of companies brewer Nagel in Stuttgart- Vaihingen, the former trade and service companies in the office sector in Germany. In the 1990s, the Dutch company Buhrmann Tetterode (BT ) acquired based in Amsterdam all the shares in brewer Nagel. This brewer Nagel has been a 100% subsidiary. In July 1998, it was renamed Buhrmann NV In 1999 came the merger with 1986 in Boulder, Colorado, founded Corporate Express Corporation. In July 2000, the name of the BT Office Products Germany in Corporate Express Germany GmbH & Co. Vertriebs KG or Corporate Express Germany GmbH has been changed.

In July 2008, Corporate Express was taken over by the world's largest office supply company Staples. After months of negotiations Corporate Express accepted an offer of around 1.7 billion euros. Since 1 January 2010 Corporate Express operates as Staples Germany GmbH & Co. KG and occurs on the market under the name " Staples Advantage". The contract customer business Staples Advantage is aimed at medium to multinational companies. In addition, Staples has in Germany through the distribution channels of the stationary retail trade (about 60 office stores ) and the catalog and mail order business, Staples Direct. Staples is the largest office products company in the world, with nearly 2,200 stores in 26 countries on five continents. Approximately 90,000 employees worldwide generated 2010 total sales of 24.5 billion U.S. dollars.
