Star jelly

Sternenrotz or Meteor jelly is a term for predation choked out, swollen oviducts of amphibians. These are hard to digest and therefore does not take the usual route of digestion. As the swollen fallopian tubes are, as such, are usually difficult to identify or explain and about to fall from the sky, in the case of birds of prey, they got this name in the vernacular. They are found mainly in spring near spawning grounds.
