Star TV (Turkey)

Star TV is a private Turkish TV channel of Doğuş holding company based in Istanbul. It is one of the first private Turkish TV channel.

Establishment and organization

Star TV was founded on 5 May 1990 by Ahmet Özal and Cem Uzan Tevfik. 2005 was acquired for 306 million U.S. dollars of Aydın Doğan TV star and his Doğan Yayin Holding. In November 2011, the Doğan Yayin Holding sold the station to fund called for in the 2009 tax payments in the millions. Star TV was purchased by Ferit Sahenk and his Doğuş Holding, which also owns the channel NTV, for 327 million U.S. dollars.
