Stare Budkowice

Old Budkowitz, Polish Stare Budkowice, is a town in Upper Silesia. Old Budkowitz located in the municipality Murow in powiat Opolski in Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Old Budkowitz located 25 kilometers north of the county town of Opole and voivodship.

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 961 voters voted to remain in Germany and 267 for Poland. Old Budkowitz remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 1631 residents in the village. On 19 May 1936, the town was renamed in Old cottage village. In 1939 the place 1668 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration, was renamed in Stare Budkowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the place for Opole Voivodeship and 1999 came to the re-established powiat Opolski. In March 2009, the City also received the official German place names Old Budkowitz.
