Starka

Stárka is a traditionally spiced grain vodka, which is produced mainly in Poland, Lithuania and Russia.

Production

Stárka is made from rye unrektifiziertem alcohol, which is matured in oak barrels old with small amounts of lime or apple leaves. The manufacturing process is similar to that of whiskey. It sold many types of Stárka, which mainly differ in the length of maturation, which can last from 5 to 50 years. The oldest Stárka in his offer is more than 50 years old, and the youngest is 10 years old. History

Stárka is known in Poland and Lithuania since at least the 15th century. Traditionally, buried after the birth of a son vodka in an oak barrel and excavated at the wedding of the son again.
