Starostwo

Starostwo ( German: Starostei ) was in the Middle Ages a level of the territorial division of the Polish state.

At the top of Starostwo stood until 1795 the Starosta, directly appointed by the King.

Since 1918 in Poland will allow the administration of a powiat, which corresponds to a district called. Here, starostwo refers to both the Office and the building, the headquarters of the Eastern Star.
