Starpath

Starpath was the name of a U.S. computer company that was originally founded in June 1981 by Alan Bayley, Robert Brown and Craig Nelson under the name Arcadia Corporation. However, shortly after the founding of the company had to licensing reasons change its name to Starpath.

Starpath was known for the development and commercialization of Starpath Supercharger in 1982. This was an extension of the Atari 2600 video game system. The supercharger, which was inserted as a plug-in module in the Atari 2600, extended memory so that more complex games with more extensive graphics could be played on the game console. The corresponding games were also developed by Starpath.

However, this extension could be at the customers do not enforce sufficient so that the supercharger was not further developed and Starpath in 1983 merged with the company Epyx.
