The documentary startup.com accompanied the two founders of a dot-com company called GovWorks.com from brainstorming and business was founded over great success up to complete destruction of their company.
Background
The idea for this documentary by filmmakers Chris Hegedus and Jehane Noujaim was to accompany the rapid development of a dotcom company. In the years 1998 and 1999 they accompanied for over a year every day the main actors Kaleil Isaza Tuzman and Tom Herman and finally were able to choose from over 400 hours of footage. From the original film master not only the rise of the company, but in a unique way also their downfall developed. One of the main motifs of the film include not only the dot-com boom and the new economy, but also greed and selfishness on the part of the main players.
A similar theme was the movie " world market leader - The history of the Tan Siekmann " by Klaus Stern, who documented the two-time rise and fall of Tan Siekmann and whose company Biodata.
