Starý Šachov

Šachov Stary ( Old German Schokau until 1869 Schokau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers south-east of Decin and belongs to Okres Decin.

Geography

Šachov Stary is located in the Valley of the Ploučnice on the right bank of the river. To the north rises the Kotel (395 m), in the northeast of Dubový vrch (402 m ) southeast of the Kozi vrch (428 m), in the south of Merboltický Kopec ( 426 m) and the Kamenec ( Steinberg, 519 m ) and west of the Lipový vrch (403 m) and Liščí vrch (351 m).

Neighboring towns are Malá Bukovina in the north, Velka Bukovina in the northeast, Slunce in the east, Žandov, Dolni Police, Malá Strana and Zpěvné the southeast, Maly Šachov in the south, Merboltice and Valkeřice the southwest, Brlohy and Františkov nad Ploučnicí in the west and Dolni Habartice in northwest.

History

The first mention of Schokaw place in the year 1328. Between 1387 and 1468 the city was designated as Stockaw. Until 1624 the village had become Protestant in 1542 was to the church of St.. Bartholomew gepfarrt in Sandau. Since the 17th century it was the seat of a local judge. After recatholicization Schokau was 1624 umgepfarrt the Church of the Visitation in Upper Politz. The Berni rula 1654 points from eight pawns, six gardeners and cottagers for six Cziakow. 1713 was the village of 21 houses and 1783 were in Schogau already 33 houses. Between 1723 and 1732 the village belonged to the parish church of St.. Wenzel Great buck. It then returned to the parish of Upper Politz and in 1775 finally gepfarrt back to Sandau. Residents of the village lived from agriculture, mainly from fruit growing. 1833 founded the Auschaer pharmacist Ignaz Piller on the left Polzenufer in the corridors of Grange Schokau the new settlements and small Schokau Triesch. At this time Schokau had 231 inhabitants and was including the three hole houses of 40 houses.

After the abolition of patrimonial Schokau / Šachov formed in 1850 a district of the political community large buck in the District Commission Tetschen. 1869 lived 220 people in Schokau with the hole houses. Since 1869 the term Old Schokau was used to distinguish small Schokau. After the establishment of a small calico grew Schokau and in 1869 already 512 inhabitants. 1872 took the train from the ground after Bohemian Bach Leipa to the operation. 1877 was the community Schokau / Šachov. She had 1900 169 inhabitants in the year. 1921 was officially renamed Old Schokau / Stary Šachov. 1930 the community had 169 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement in 1938 the community was added to the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Tetschen, from 1943 Děčín. 1939 lived in Old Schokau 165 people who belonged to almost all of the German ethnic group. In 1945, Stary Šachov back to Czechoslovakia, the German inhabitants were expelled. 1949 Maly Šachov was incorporated. Between 1980 and 1990 Stary Šachov was a district of Benešov nad Ploučnicí.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Stary Šachov Šachov Maly ( Small Schokau ) and Stary Šachov (Alt Schokau ), at the same time also form Katastralbezirke. At Stary Šachov also the settlement Brlohy part ( hole houses).
