Stasis (medicine)
As stasis (Greek στάσις " congestion ", " congestion " ) is called in the technical language of medicine to jam an otherwise moving body fluid or an ingredient of hollow organs:
- Congestion of blood, see hemostasis
- Stasis of lymph, lymphostasis, see edema
- Stasis of bile, see cholestasis
- Stasis of mucus, see mucostasis
- Stasis of intestinal contents, see fecal impaction (also Enterostase )
