Statics

Statics is the branch of mechanics that deals with the balance of forces on bodies. For a static or unaccelerated moving body remains at rest (or moving to unaccelerated ), the sums of all forces and moments acting on that body, be zero. This is the equilibrium condition of statics. With knowledge of the applied forces and moments to the responsive support forces and the forces acting within the body internal forces and moments can be determined. The determination of the forces and moments is the basis for the design and dimensioning of structures and components.

Droop is an essential field in the engineering fields of civil engineering and mechanical engineering. It deals inter alia with the center and the forces of gravity, friction, the concept of work, the average size of determination, the calculation of deformations and stability. These are graphical and mathematical methods to solve the problems. In addition to the classical analytical methods gets more and more the numerical finite element method feeder. The application of structural analysis in civil engineering is the structural analysis.

The stiffness that is an interplay between material properties and dimensions, is included in the rule in the static statement. Here, the conservation of energy is available, so all applied by external stresses work must be stored within the elastic system in potential energy by slow movement.

The strength that is only a material property in the rule is irrelevant in the actual static invoice therefore. Nevertheless, it is the completion of the static calculations usually a review will be undertaken if the strength of the calculated load is sufficient.
