Station master

The station-master, also called station master, was the senior staff of a railway station. For midsize and large stations a train station inspector was at the head. He lived as a rule an official residence in the station building, and the service room was located on the ground floor each. There, the Board coordinated the necessary work and sorted out with his staff, the station officials, the railway and operated rail customers at the counter. Had a station- usually a teaching station or a pre-vocational education to station staff behind. In times past, the wives worked frequently as a barrier guards.

Railway Reform in Germany and the associated splitting of the web in many societies, the station boards have disappeared since the various collaborators include railway stations to various group companies of the Deutsche Bahn.
