The Stayen is the home stadium of the football club VV St. Truiden. The city of Sint-Truiden is located in the province of Limburg in the Flanders region. The stadium is ( German: Hell of Stayen ) also called Hel van Stayen. The venue now offers fans seats 11,337.

History

After the club was founded in 1924 first played on the soccer fields at Tongersesteenweg and Montenakenweg; , the then Director of the sugar factory Mellaerts Alfred Wauters 1927 build at the factory site, a new football field. After the first season, a grandstand was built. During the Second World War, the stadium was destroyed by an air raid on 24 August 1944.

After reconstruction in 1949 the facility had a covered grandstand with 600 seats. In the season 1952/53, the standing room were expanded and showers installed in the dressing rooms. In the 1965/66 season was the VV St. Truiden second in the First Division and for the game against the eventual champions RSC Anderlecht over 20,000 people were in the stadium. 1982 The complex got a new floodlight system and 1983 a new general admission grandstand was built on the site of the cafeteria.

After returning in 1987 to the first division in 1988, the stadium was completely renovated. In 1990, a new grandstand was added. From a standing terrace has a seating place with 5,000 seats. Since 2008, the stadium for € 35 million is being rebuilt. The conversion will be completed at the beginning of the 2010/11 season ..
