The CSA Steaua Bucharest is a Romanian ice hockey team from Bucharest, which was founded in 1951 as a section of the Army Sports Club Steaua Bucharest. Since January 23, 2010 occurs the first team, which plays in the Romanian Hockey League, under the name of Steaua Rangers. In the 2008 / 09 season, in addition, the team took part in the Hungarian-Romanian MOL League.

History

The hockey team was founded in 1951 as CCA Bucharest and was among other sections (eg, football, handball, basketball) the army sports club of the same name on. Were established in 1961 renamed CSA Steaua Bucharest. With 40 league titles and 31 Cup wins Steaua is by far the most successful hockey club in Romania. Most recently, the club won the league and cup double, the last time being champion title dates from 2006 in 2005.

In 2008, Steaua was recorded together with the League rivals CS Progym Gheorgheni in the MOL League, which will be held parallel to the Romanian Hockey League. After 36 game days, the team finished sixth out of ten participants. The following season, 2009/10 Steaua abandoned for financial reasons on the right to start.
