Stechow-Ferchesar

Stechow - Ferchesar is a municipality in the west of the Brandenburg district Havel country. It belongs to the Official Nennhausen based in Nennhausen.

Geography

Stechow - Ferchesar is located in the west of the country Brandenburg Havel country in the district about 10 kilometers northeast of Rathenow, about 62 kilometers west of Berlin -Spandau and south of the Great Havelländisches main channel. The district is located on the Ferchesar Havelsee Hohennauener - Ferchesarer lake where the marina is located Ferchesar. The region around Ferchesar - Stechow is very rich with forests and lakes. History

The district Ferchesar was established in 1438 and the district Stechow was first documented in 1375. The name of Ferchesar derives from Ferch from the lake. He was the seat of the Countess von Bredow. Since the beginning of the 19th century was Ferchsar Resort and the Pearl of the Havel country called. The present municipality was created on 31 December 2002 from the voluntary merger of the previously independent municipalities Ferchesar and Stechow.

Dated April 2, 1900 to 1945 Stechow was a stopping point on the circular path Rathenow Senzke - Nauen.
