Stedesand
Stedesand ( Frisian: Stääsönj ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein. Störtewerkerkoog and Wester Schnatebüll lie in the municipality, which existed in its present form since 1974.
Geography and transport
Stedesand is located about 5 km south east of Niebüll on the highway 5 and the railway line from Niebüll to Husum.
History
On 1 February 1974, the former municipalities Störtewerkerkoog and Wester Schnatebüll were incorporated.
Policy
Of the eleven seats in the municipal council has the voter community AWG since the local elections in 2013 five seats, the voter communities AWS and KWS have three seats.
Economy
The community is predominantly agricultural.
Attractions
The Stedesander church was probably built in the 16th century. Today's altar painting by Carl Ludwig Jessen. The baptismal font from Gotland limestone similar to that of Emmelsbüller church.
In the list of cultural monuments in Stedesand are registered in the list of monuments of Schleswig- Holstein cultural monuments.
