Stefaan Maene

Stefaan Maene ( born May 13, 1972 in Ostend) is a former Belgian swimmer. Mid-1990s, he was one of the best back - and position floats his country. Throughout his career, he set 78 Belgian national records.

A first decent result Maene landed in 1992 at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, when he qualified for the 200m backstroke final and eventually swam to seventh place. His first medal he won at the 1993 Short Course World Championships in Palma de Mallorca, where he was about 200 meters backstroke third parties.
