Stefan Arndt

Stefan Arndt ( born August 28, 1961 in Munich) is a German film producer, the production company X Filme Creative Pool operates with Tom Tykwer, Wolfgang Becker, Dani Levy and Manuela Stehr in Berlin.

Life

Stefan Arndt in 1984 co-founded the theatrical group of operators Sputnik collective and then headed a number of cinemas, the Sputnik in Berlin, the Zeise in Hamburg, the Colosseum in East Berlin and the Thalia in Potsdam. In 1992 he founded with Tom Tykwer along the production company Love Stories, which Tykwer's directorial debut, The Deadly Maria produced.

Two years later, Arndt eventually founded with Tom Tykwer, Wolfgang Becker and Dani Levy Company X Filme Creative Pool, whose managing partner is Arndt and should guarantee broad creative and economic independence along the lines of the United Artists film makers. In his capacity as a producer of most X-Filme Arndt is one of the most important people in the German film industry. He is co-founder and board member of the X - loan, is to ensure the distribution of its own films in collaboration with Warner Bros.. He was also Chairman of the German Film Academy, founded in 2003. Stefan Arndt is married to the film producer Manuela Stehr, who works as a co-manager at X films since 2000.
