Stefan Engels
Stefan Engels ( born February 14, 1967) is a German organist and professor.
Engels first took private lessons in organ and piano with Wolfgang soaps. From 1983 to 1986 he studied church music at Gregoriushaus in Aachen (B- examination with distinction ) under Hans -Josef Roth. From 1987 to 1990 he worked as a church musician in Viersen - Dülken.
From 1990, followed by postgraduate courses in organ and choral conducting in Dusseldorf (Robert -Schumann-Hochschule ) and Cologne (A exam and concert exam ). Further studies led him to the USA to Robert T. Anderson ( Dallas ) and Wolfgang Rübsam ( Evanston ).
1999 Angel professor of organ at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, Princeton, New Jersey / USA. In 2005 he moved as a successor of Arvid Gast at the Church Music Department of the University of Music and Theatre " Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy " Leipzig.
Angel has made numerous recordings for the Naxos label and Genuin. For Priory he produces the complete works for organ by the composer Sigfrid Karg- Elert.
Stefan Engels lived in Charleston (South Carolina / USA) and Leipzig.
