Stefan Kruger

Stefan Kruger ( born August 3, 1966 in Cape Town ) is a former South African tennis player who was largely successful in doubles.

Life

Kruger was in 1984 at the finals of the junior tournament at Wimbledon, but lost Mark Kratzmann. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and was elected to the best selection of All-American twice. In 1986, he reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship. In 1987 he was a professional tennis player, reaching the Challenger tournament in Durban the quarterfinals. On the side of Neil Broad, he won the following year, two doubles titles on the Challenger Tour. 1989 could both win their first doubles title on the ATP World Tour in Adelaide. Throughout his career, he was three ATP doubles title win, he got five more times in a double finals. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1989 with position 253 in single and in 1993 with position 38 in doubles.

He failed to qualify for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament in singles ever. In the doubles competition, he reached in 1990 with Greg Van Emburgh the semifinals of Wimbledon, but they lost to eventual tournament winners Rick Leach and Jim Pugh in four sets.
