Stefan Markolf

Stefan Markolf ( born January 3, 1984 in Witzenhausen ) is a deaf German football player.

Biography

After the youth stations VfB Witzenhausen, Hessen Kassel KSV and KSV Baunatal the linksfüßige Left Wing Markolf played in the 2002/03 season his first league game for the KSV Baunatal. Mid-2004 Markolf together with his teammate Henning light to Regionalliga team of 1 FSV Mainz 05 in the first year in Mainz Markolf dismounted in the league, but completed a test stake in the Bundesliga team. From the season 2005/ 06 Markolf was the pro squad of Mainz; he had the first deployment on 24 August 2007, in the match against Borussia Moenchengladbach. 2008/ 09 he played for Borussia Wuppertal SV in the third league. 2009 signed Markolf a two- year contract with the KSV Hessen Kassel. In 2010, he agreed with the club on the resolution of the current contract until 2011. After three months of Vereinslosigkeit he signed a new contract with his former employer KSV Baunatal. With the club he joined as a master of Hessen League 2013 in the Regionalliga West.

In 2011 he took part in the European Football Championship of the Deaf and won the bronze medal with the German team.

Markolf is almost completely deaf from birth. Thanks logopaedic promotion he has a nearly flawless pronunciation. Despite his disability Markolf is to certify a good vision. He wears hearing aids in the game special.
