Stefan Mohr

Stefan Mohr ( born October 22, 1967 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German chess grandmaster.

Mohr learned chess as a 11 -year-old chess club Erdmannshausen (Baden- Württemberg). In 1982 he was in Fulda German C- Youth Champion ( U15 ), 1984 German Krefeld B- Youth Champion ( U17). Since 1988, Mohr was active for VfL Sindelfingen Chess League. According to his superior victories in international tournaments in Budapest Single ( Elekes Memorial ) and Schoeneck was awarded to him in 1989 by the World Chess Federation FIDE the title of Grand Master.

In the German Elo ranking climbed up to fourth place, Mohr was appointed to the National Team. In 1988, he came when countries fight between the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic in East Berlin used and achieved together with Klaus Bischoff, the best result of the German players. In Haifa he represented in 1989 at the European Championships, the colors of the German team that won the bronze medal.

After completing his degree in economics in Freiburg im Breisgau and Madison (Wisconsin ) in 1995, Mohr retired from competition chess. He now works as a banking officer in Frankfurt am Main.

His Elo rating is 2413 (as of April 2009).
