Stefan Persson (magnate)

Stefan Persson ( born October 4, 1947) is a Swedish entrepreneur.

Stefan Persson is the son of Erling Persson, the textile company Hennes & Mauritz in Stockholm founded in 1947. He grew up in a wealthy family and studied after school first art history. Then he joined his father's company, where he held various positions. Between 1982 and 1997 he was Chief Executive Officer, since 1998, he serves as Chairman of the Board of H & M. He also holds 31 per cent stake in the company.

With an estimated net worth of 28 billion U.S. dollars Persson is the richest Swede Ingvar Kamprad before the present. On the list of richest people in the world, which is published annually by Forbes Magazine, Persson took place in 2012 8 a (2011: 13th place with 24.5 billion $ 2013: 12th place with $ 28 billion ). Persson is married, has three children and lives in Stockholm.
