Stefan Steinweg

Stefan Steinweg ( born February 24, 1969 in Dortmund ) is a retired German professional cyclist.

Career

Stefan Steinweg was active primarily as a racing cyclist and drove in particular six-day race. He recorded his first international success at age 17, when he was junior world champion in the points race.

At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona Steinweg was with the train of four (together with Guido Fulst, Jens Lehmann, Michael and Andreas Glöckner Waltz ) Olympic champion in the 4000 -m team pursuit. In the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in 1991 in Stuttgart he became world champion with the train of four (along with Hunchback, waltzes and Lehmann). In 2000 he scored a victory at the UCI Track World Championships in Manchester, in the two - team driving with Erik Weispfennig. In addition, he was ten times each World Cup winner and German masters.
