Stefan Toshev

Stefan Toschew ( Stefan Toshev, Bulgarian Стефан Тошев; born December 18, 1859 in Stara Zagora, † November 27, 1924 in Plovdiv ) was a Bulgarian general in the First World War.

His mother was a teacher during the period of National Revival.

Toschew volunteered during the Russo -Turkish War volunteered for the Bulgarian Opalchentsi Corps and later worked as a translator. On 10 May 1879 he graduated from the Military School in Sofia. Then he served in the police force of Eastern Rumelia.

In 1942 the city was renamed Kasamkjoj in northern Bulgaria in honor of Stefan Toschew in " General Toshevo ".
