Stefan Wallin

Stefan " Steffi " Erik Wallin ( born June 1, 1967 in Vaasa ) is a Swedish politician finland. From 2006 to 2012, he was chairman of the Swedish People's Party ( sfp ) and 2011-2012 Finnish Defence.

Stefan Wallin is the son of a bookseller and a museum guide. In 1986, he completed his Abitur at the Vasa Övningsskolas high school and then studied at the Swedish-language Åbo Akademi in Turku social sciences. The study he completed in 1994 with the degree of Master of Social Sciences. During the study period Wallin From 1989 to 1992, the newspaper Vasabladet from Vaasa and in the years 1993 and 1994 for the Åbo Underrättelser from Turku.

After studying Wallin was a researcher at the Swedish People's Party and consultants in various Finnish ministries, including from 1994 to 1995 in the Ministry of Transport and Communications, from 1995 to 1998 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1998 and 1999 at the Home Office, and finally from 1999 to 2000 in the Department of Defense. From 2005 to 2007 Wallin was then Secretary of State in the Ministry of Environment before he was environment minister in the first cabinet of Matti Vanhanen himself from January to mid-April 2007. In the same year he received the sfp in the constituency Varsinais -Suomi a seat in the Finnish Parliament and was on April 19 Culture and Sports Minister. After the 2011 elections he was until July 2012 Defense Minister Katainen 's cabinet.

Wallin continued his work as a simple member of the Reichstag and in Turku occurs in addition to local elections.
