Stefania Rocca

Stefania Rocca ( ​​born April 24, 1971 in Turin) is an Italian actress.

Life and achievements

The daughter of a Fiat functionary and a fashion designer was born in 1971 in Turin, where she grew up also. Rocca studied dance, piano and singing at the Teatro Stabile in her hometown and went to Milan in 1989, where she worked as a model in order to finance themselves acting lessons. Her later mentors have included Beatrice Bracco, Dominique Defazio and later Susan Strasberg at the Actors Studio in New York. 1993 Rocca moved to Rome, where she received a scholarship from the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and a year later as an actress in the short film Effetto (1994 ) debuted. In the action film Palermo Milano - Escape from the mafia (1995 ) she played alongside Giancarlo Giannini. In the film drama Courage to Love ( 1996) she became one of the major roles in the SF action movie Nirvana - Hunting in Cyberspace (1997) she played a larger role at the side of Christopher Lambert. In the novel adaptation The Talented Mr. Ripley ( 1999), she starred opposite Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Law Jew on. In the thriller Heaven ( 2002) by Tom Tykwer, she starred alongside Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi in a larger role.

The comedy Casomai - Do we trust ourselves? (2002), in the Rocca played a starring role, earned her a nomination for the 2002 Nastro d' Argento of Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani and 2003 nominated for the David di Donatello. The second Nastro nomination she received in 2004 for a supporting role in the film drama La vita come viene (2003); their role in Cristina Comencinis Oscar-nominated movie La bestia nel cuore Drama (2005) brought her 2006 re- nomination for the David di Donatello one. In the film drama Mary (2005) by Abel Ferrara, she played a larger role at the side of Juliette Binoche, Forest Whitaker and Matthew Modine.

Rocca was in October 2007, the mother of a daughter who comes from the relationship with the businessman Carlo Capasa.
