Stefania is a genus of frogs and toads ( Anura ), which was attributed until recently the family of tree frogs ( Hylidae ). Recent phylogenetic studies have led to various systematic changes. Meanwhile, the taxon is provided along with four other genera in the family Hemiphractidae.

These frogs come from South America. The previously described 18 species were found in each case very small areas in Venezuela and Guyana; some species are also suspected in Brazil. A special feature of the brood is: As with the other members of the family Hemiphractidae carry the females the eggs on the body.
