Stefanie Clausen

Anna Nancy " Nanny" Fryland Clausen ( born April 1, 1900 in Copenhagen, † August 2, 1981 in Karlebo ) was a Danish water jumper, who won gold in Antwerp in platform diving at the Olympic Summer Games 1920.

In the Olympic qualification on August 24, 1920 Clausen finished second in their group in third place after the British Beatrice Armstrong and the U.S. American Elizabeth Grimes, these three reached the finals along with three jumpers in the other group. In the final on 28 August five jumps were to be completed: two from the four- meter board and three from a height of eight meters. Clausen scored 173 points and had seven points clear of Beatrice Armstrong, who won the silver medal.

1930 married Stefanie Clausen Jacob Nielsen, with whom she had three children. She is the only Danish Olympic champion to this day in the water jump. Denmark won after 1920 only an Olympic medal when Birte Christoffersen won bronze in 1948 from the tower.
