Stefano Malinverni

Stefano Malinverni ( born May 14, 1959 in Cinisello Balsamo ) is an Italian former athlete, who specialized in the 400 -meter run.

His greatest achievement was winning the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meters relay at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. The Italian season in the lineup Roberto Tozzi, Mauro Zuliani, Stefano Malinverni and Pietro Mennea reached the goal in 3:04,54 behind the teams of the Soviet Union min ( 3:01,08 min) and the GDR ( 3:01,26 min ). Malinverni started in Moscow and about 400 m, but different in the quarter-final round.

His best results as individual starters scored Malinverni at European Indoor Championships. In Vienna in 1979 he won in 46.59 s the silver medal behind Karel Kolář, 1981 in Grenoble in 46.96 s the bronze medal behind Andreas Knebel and Martin Weppler. In addition Malinverni was five times Italian champion in the 400 -meter run ( 1978-1980 and 1979-1980 outdoors in the hall ).

Stefano Malinverni is 1.80 m and had a competition weight of 73 kg.
