Stefano Marchetti

Stefano Marchetti ( born November 10, 1986 in Trento ) is an Italian ice hockey player who is since 2011 in Asiago in the Serie A1 under contract.

Career

Stefano Marchetti began his career as a hockey player with the SHC Fassa, for their first team, he was active in the Serie A1 2002-2009. He then spent two years in the league rivals SG Pontebba. For the 2011/12 season the defender was committed by the reigning champion Asiago.

Internationally

For Italy Marchetti took part in the junior level at the Division I of the U18 World Youth Championship in 2004 and the Division I tournaments U20 World Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006. In the senior level, he stood for the first time in February 2009 in Riga at the Olympic qualification for the Vancouver Games in the squad of the Italians, but after defeats against Latvia (1:4) and the Ukraine ( 2:3 ) with only one victory against Hungary (4: 1) the leap into the final tournament missed. Successful it ran for him at the World Championships in the same year, as the Azzurri were able to win the tournament of Division I in Poland Toruń and thus in the top division ascend. In the top division he was in the Italian squad at the championships in 2010 and 2012, but without being able to avoid relegation, respectively. At the World Championships 2013 Division I in Budapest, he was again in the Italian squad and got his team a 2-1 win over the hosts back into the top division on.
