Steffen Bogs

Steffen Bogs ( born October 8, 1965 in Rostock ) is a former rower from the German Democratic Republic. In 1988 he won the Olympic bronze medal with the quadruple sculls.

Bogs rowed for the SC Dynamo Berlin. In 1983 he was World Junior Champion in the coxless pairs, but switched to sculling boats later. As a batsman he won in 1988, the East German championship in the quadruple sculls together with Steffen Zühlke, Heiko Habermann and Jens Koeppen. This boat reached then at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 the bronze medal behind the boats from Italy and Norway. For this he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. After a third place in 1989 Bogs and Zühlke 1990 won the last East German champion in quadruple sculls, now starting for the SC Berlin.
