Steffen Seibert

Andreas Steffen Seibert ( born June 7, 1960 in Munich) is a German former journalist and current government spokesman. Since 11 August 2010, he is Head of the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government in the rank of Secretary of State civil servants.

Prior to joining the federal government Seibert was a television journalist at ZDF.

Life

Training

Seibert attended the Tellkampfschule in Hanover and studied from 1981 to 1987 History, Literature and Public Law at the University of Hamburg and at the London School of Economics.

Public service broadcasting

1989 Seibert began as an intern at ZDF. After he had worked in various newsrooms, including the now -journal, he reported for ZDF from 1992 to 1995 as a foreign correspondent from Washington. Back in Germany, he hosted the first ZDF morning show, followed by the ZDF Evening Magazine, hello Germany (1997-2000) and ZDF.reporter (2001-2003). Seibert was also used for special programs.
