Steghorn from north

The Steghorn is a mountain in the Bernese Alps between Engstligenalp and Gemmipass.

The easiest ascent is from the Lämmerenhütte in the Valais via Steghorn glacier or on the Leiterli (one rock ), another route is from the Engstligenalp over the ridge between Steghorn and wild crowds.

It can be climbed in winter by both sides, the ski tour starting point Engstligenalp is very demanding. The Tour from Lämmerenhütte via Steghorn glacier is classified according to SAC Skitourenkarte as L.
