Steinar Ege ( born April 10, 1972 in Kristiansand, Norway ) is a retired Norwegian handball goalkeeper.

Career

In his youth and amateur time Ege played with the Norwegian associations, Kristiansand IF, IF Øyestad, Stavanger IF and Viking HK. His professional career began in 1997 at the German Bundesliga club VfL Gummersbach. In 1999 he moved to Kiel, with whom he was, among other things two times German champion. On 29 November 2002 Ege was loaned by THW Kiel until the end of the season to the Spanish first division CBM Gáldar. Then he returned to VfL Gummersbach. In 2006 he went from Gummersbach to the Danish club FCK Håndbold. After four years at FCK Ege joined AG København. Following the bankruptcy of AG København he ended his career in the summer of 2012.

Steinar Ege played in the Norwegian national handball team for which he played 262 matches and scored one goal.

Others

The qualified carpenter is married and has one daughter. His wife Lene also played professional handball.
