Steinbeis Foundation

The Steinbeis Foundation is the roof of a network, which is active in the specific knowledge and technology transfer.

Namesake of the foundation is Ferdinand von Steinbeis (1807-1893), who created the Württemberg economy politicians the basis of dual training in medium-sized companies.

History

Ferdinand von Steinbeis founded in 1868 the first Steinbeis Foundation to promote the industrial training of young people. The Foundation lost their fortunes during the inflation in 1923 and broke up. In 1971 she was established as a foundation under civil law new in Stuttgart. The former Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Lothar Späth appointed in 1983 Johann Löhn the Government Commissioner for Technology Transfer, who took over at the same time the position of CEO of the Steinbeis Foundation until 2004.
