Steinhausen is a municipality in the canton train in Switzerland. and with 5:04 square kilometers in area the smallest communities in Canton Zug.

By the end of the Old Confederacy in the spring of 1798 Steinhausen was a bailiwick of the city train. With the Helvetic Republic, it became an independent municipality ( municipality ). 1904, the SBB railway station on the railway line was opened in Zurich train. Until then, Steinhausen was also the smallest population of all the municipality in the canton train. The farming village had only just 80 houses, but 40 barns and approximately 4,000 apple trees. Then the town was overrun by modernity.

From 1945 Steinhausen was connected to a bus line. After 1958 began a strong growth, which greatly influenced the appearance of Steinhausen. Fraud, the population in 1800 approximately 500 inhabitants it has increased more than tenfold by 1940. In the years 1985-2005 an urban infrastructure with many housing estates, a ring road, the motorway and a maintenance depot was built.

Today live in Steinhausen 8.4 percent of the cantonal population. After residents Steinhausen after the three cities train, Baar and Cham is the fourth largest municipality.
