Steinheuterode

Steinheuterode is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field. Steinheuterode belongs to the administrative community uder. It is around 30 km away from the university town of Göttingen. Within a small radius of the community ( 15-70 km ) to the various centers in Germany are (depending on calculation method).

Geography

At the foot of Stone Mountain, at 316 m above sea level, is situated in a valley surrounded by forest site Steinheuterode. The houses are arranged around the St. Alban 's Church and around the former manor that is now used as the village hall.

History

The first written mention of the village dates back to the year 1228 where the place was mentioned as " Hauwerterode ". To distinguish from Eichsfeldort Wüstheuterode the place in 1619 was given the nickname "stone". The manor was built in 1575. 1732 was built on the farm of the manor of fountains " Regine ". Its sovereign until 1802 Kurmainz, 1802-1945 with a brief interruption by the Kingdom of Westphalia Prussia. 1945 to 1949 the town was part of the Soviet zone of occupation and since 1949 part of the GDR. From 1961 until the turn and reunion 1989/1990 Steinheuterode was affected by the closure of the nearby German border. Since 1990, the city is part of the re-established state of Thuringia.

The coat of arms shows a centrally -goat, alluding Steintreeder Zeggenböcke to the nickname of the inhabitants. Such nicknames are widely used for places in the calibration field.

The golden oak leaf points to the location of the municipality in the calibration field. The founding of the village as Rodesiedlung is symbolized by the tree stump in the foreground. The location of the place at Steinberg is supported by the mountain in the sign into account.
